hey Eugene, we're in similar straits. Yesterday I did two two-minute sets with 24kg kettlebells and 6 minutes with a 16kg. I'm 40.

I shall be really interested to know how the assistance exercises affect your training. Here in America the prevailing sentiment is that GS trains you for GS. I.e., if you want strong legs for jerks, then do a lot of jerks--not a lot of squats.

I am an ex-marathoner with all but destroyed legs. Therefore I refuse to run since I know how harmful it is. But taking your blog into account, I'm going to try some rope jumping to incorporate more conditioning into my program

I think assistance exercises are very important, and I will incorporate them into my routine soon. Regarding running and damaged legs - I guess you have to adjust to your conditions. I hate running, but it looks like at this stage I just have to start doing it in order to get my endurance levels up to scratch.
