Still building up volume

2 x 19 kg LC:
2 min sets x 7
6 rep/min, 84 reps total

If you count both clean and jerk then total training volume is 6552 kg - 6.5 tonnes
(I need a smiley, the one with rotating eyes)

The problem with training without a coach is that learned mistakes go unnoticed. I am going to post training videos of myself here more often. I will appreciate any comments.

The videos below are set 2 and set 4 of today's session. Pretty depressing to watch. But at least I have some ideas what to work on.

Nice sets, it's hard to be smooth at and most guys do it but try and break the habit of lifting the bells up when you clean them. Try and get the clean to land right in the rack. Takes practice and maybe some double clean only sets.

Not bad. I heard a beeping noise before each jerk. What kind of timer do you use and how do you use it?

The form of my clean is the result of being scared to bang the bells on the chest, which could be the cause of the recent headache. I am going to work more on it.

David, the beeping noise is Gymboss. I set it at 10 seconds - to get 6 reps/minute.

Smet, it looks as though many of your jerks in the first video would be judged as push presses. There is minimal and at time no second dip.

That's a biggie and if I'm seeing it correctly, something for which you'd definitely want feedback.

You are doing great though - don't be too hard on yourself.

I would say both things that I've noticed have been touched upon. The Catch after the clean and the Push Press like Jerk.

I'd personally address the comfort level with catching the bells in the rack. That can cost you valuable rack time and expend more energy.

Smet, you do have both dips,so this is a jerk.
The other thing that I would stay a half sec longer in lockout position, until Bells are completely frozen ,and then drop back into a rack position. You may drop on the top of your chest and then immediately slide your elbows down until connected to your trunk.
I agree that your rack should be more stable,it's a little bit wobly, especially during cleans, otherwise you OK.
Keep working.

Nice work! My pc is slow today so I only watched first film.
I am impressed by your speed and distinct launch of the bells. And you use a belt like real man. Nice lockouts (hold slightly longer?). I too, see two dips.
Do elbows lose body-contact during first dips? Think I saw that some reps. I guess that is a also a question of individual style and anthrometrics.
Great lifts!

I'm having good results with fixations from 30s fixation/rack exercise which is set #1 in Ryabchenko program. You can see what I'm doing on IGx training logs eugenegiriguy - I'm not stealing your name Smet, I live in a city called Eugene :)
